Dr. Armando Rafael graduated from Fairfield University, a premed major,with a BS in Biology. He then attended the New England College of Optometry where he received his Doctor of Optometry degree. He has served the Meriden community and nearby towns for over 35 years. He is a member of the American Optometric Association and the Connecticut Association of Optometrists. He provides routine vision care,advanced optometric eyecare, contact lenses, comanagement of refractive and cataract surgeries.Dr Rafael also speaks Portuguese and Spanish.He is one of the founding members of Professional Vision Center. When not at work Dr Rafael enjoys spending time with his wife,children and grandchildren.
Dr. Rachel Swaniger is a native of Connecticut. She did her undergraduate schooling in pre-med and obtained a B.S. in Kinesiology at the University of Massachusetts Amherst. She received her Doctorate in Optometry at the New England College of Optometry. Then completed an ocular disease residency at the Veteran Affairs Medical Center of Manchester, New Hampshire. She is board certified by the American Board of Optometry. She provides routine eye examinations, contact lens exams, cataract post-op care, and ocular disease management including, but not limited to, diabetic retinopathy, glaucoma, and macular degeneration. She is bilingual in English and Spanish. When she is not working she enjoys playing basketball, singing karaoke, and finding the best food at all the local restaurants.
David J. Cosenza, OD, attended Quinnipiac University in Hamden, CT where he received an Associates Degree in Science. He then went on to attend New England College of Optometry in Boston, MA where he received both his Bachelor's and Doctorate Degrees in Optometry.
David joined Ophthalmology Associates in Fairfield, CT and went on to found Vision Group, PC specializing in Primary Eye Care and Contact Lenses with three offices in Fairfield County (Trumbull, Fairfield and Milford locations).
After retiring from Vision Group, he started Primary Care Optometric Consultants and has been on staff at Professional Vision Center in Meriden, CT for the last 15 years.
He has been a member of the American Optometric Association as well as the CT Association of Optometry throughout his career.
He currently resides in Trumbull, CT with his wife, Donna. They have two adult sons.
